Hello there, as the title suggests, this is a quick post to announce the next book I will be reviewing.
Bridget Collins has previously published several young adult novels under the name of B.R. Collins. The Binding, however, is her first adult novel and it seemed to burst onto the scene out of nowhere in early-2019. I have only heard positive comments since its publication, and it is a novel which I have wanted to read for a while but never got round to purchasing… That is, until I came across a stunning edition of the book (images at the bottom of the page) which I could not resist.
I have heard the phrase ‘you should never judge a book by its cover’. However, the reality is that even the best of us are more likely to pick up a book if it has an eye-catching cover. And with a cover as wonderful as that, how could I resist? Even the cover under the paper cover is stunning and, with its dark purple pages, this is a book which easily stood out on the shelves.
Having read the blurb, I don’t yet know what to expect. The basis of the story sounds weird but wonderful – which is usually a good sign and, if done well, is a pleasure to the mind’s imagination. I am, therefore, looking forward to getting started.
